You are Innately Wise.
I Guide You To Remember!

For Seekers wishing for a fresh perspective, alignment between yourself and the world around you, and an attunement to the wellspring of innate wisdom
within.

Maybe This sounds familiar?

Maybe you’ve tried yoga and meditation only to be left feeling unfulfilled, stuck, or overwhelmed.
You’re left wondering if there’s another way.

There is!

Come as you are. Lean into the obstacles presenting themselves. Together, we will uncover the aligned pathways and build solid foundations that are sustainable. We will explore mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Through our sessions you’ll feel cared for, connected, and whole.

  • What better time to begin or to deepen your understanding of yoga than when you’re pregnant!

As your attention turns inward to the extraordinary changes taking place in your body, yoga will open your awareness further to the constant comforting presence of your breath. Relax and relieve the physical discomforts that arise during pregnancy, while deepening your connection to your growing baby. Prepare your body, with specific poses, for the intensity of the birthing process. Encouraging lightness and clarity in the mind, permission to be gentle with yourself, as well as accessing and strengthening your innate power, prenatal yoga will bring you and your baby simple joy, relaxation, comfort, and strength.

I have been teaching prenatal yoga since 2005.

  • Yoga therapy is an approach to yoga that considers the extensive range of resources and challenges within the body, mind, and spirit.

I’ve been working one-on-one with students since 2005. A customized yoga program meant to address a particular set of concerns can have a powerful impact on the healing process. Reduce symptoms, find relief, strengthen, create safe space, and tap into innate wisdom.

The tools learned through therapeutic yoga can be used again and again throughout life.

I have trained extensively to use a wide range of yoga tools (postures, breath work, meditation, visualization and sound healing) in order to support individual healing & strengthening on a wide range of issues ranging from anxiety & depression to strengthening a knee joint after an injury. Yoga therapy is complementary to and works in tandem with traditional western healing modalities.

  • Acknowledge, enhance, and step into the heart of milestones.

For those who wish to honor significant life moments with a special yoga-based ceremony; I will dialogue with you to hone in on your special event, what matters most, ultimately creating a uniquely thoughtful exquisite experience you’ll never forget.

I creatively strategize to draw your community together and leave no one behind. I have guided practices for corporate leaders, couples, birthdays, graduations, baby blessings, candidates waiting for poll results, families grappling with death and illness, and so many more. I love sheparding folks through life’s thresholds.

Ways to Work Together

  • Deep dive into sound and leave behind the constant churning of mind.

Inspired by my studies with TKV Desikachar, I guide you into a unique melding of chant and sound practice with deeply mindful postures, slow-flowing sequences and ultimately a divine spacious meditation experience. Practicing postures while simultaneously toning sounds or chanting opens the opportunity to be immersed more completely in the moment. The layering of your own voice with your asana practice brings forth a unique quality of presence and an embodied empowerment so we can speak up clearly and with more ease. Attunement to a specifically chosen healing intentionality intensifies. A state of inner spaciousness becomes accessible as the breath necessary to perform these practices is refined, extended and strengthened. These practices are aimed at development of breath, focus and energy expansion.

    Some examples:

Especially in honor of 9/11 I offer “PEACE Practice” where the sanskrit word “Shanti” is woven throughout the posture experience. The effect is nothing less than profound.

To bring empowerment to the surface, especially for those seeking strength and courage, the mantra honoring Goddess Druga, “Om Dum Durga-ye Namaha” is chanted on the exhale as postures flow one to the next.

When opening to change, the mantra, “Om Namah Shivaya” honoring Lord Shiva may be ultilized to incredible effect.

  • Customize a yoga-based event or series especially suited to your unique community.

We will dialogue to create together an inspiring vision tethered to your group’s particular intentions and time frame. We will hone in on what matters most. I creatively strategize to draw your community together and leave no one behind. I love guiding group events, large and small!

Hi, I’m Shonali

I have been singing and dancing since I first wiggled my way out of the womb.

Since 1995, I have found solace, strength and profound expansion through yoga and chanting. I was 500 hour certified in 2002 (right after a bicycle accident) in NYC with Yogiraj Alan Finger’s ISHTA yoga training program.

I was an herbal apprentice with herbalist Robin Rose Bennet in the Wise Woman Tradition and sang with Circle of Soul, a group of earth-honoring soul-seekers actively exploring chants from a multitude of traditions. After moving to Paris, France in 2004, I did further study in India and Europe focusing on therapeutics & women's health with the illustrious TKV Desikachar and taught yoga full time. I relocated to Atlanta in 2010 and completed another 500 hour training with the Pranakriya Yoga school in 2013. I am a certified Yoga Therapist.

My life’s work continues in Atlanta where I live with my husband, 2 teens and our spunky pup Ace Bandit. I teach yoga, sooth frayed nerves with my songs and impart daily the importance of rest, respect and compassion. I’m a burgeoning death doula and a guide of sacred ceremonies. I’m also proud to have released my debut album of sacred songs, Open To Receive, in February 2022. One step, one breath at a time, walking the labyrinth of life.
